After his dazzling remix of Robert Crouch's "Everything Is Forgiven" for Untitled & After, Yellowcake returns with the two track EP Untitled 17 that is both dancefloor direct and emotionally evocative.
"Under Attic" drives forward with chunk and grit. A beastly low end lays the foundation for exotic liquid bloops and metallic bleeps that constantly evolve. Vibrant and flickering, like the aural equivalent of staring into a dreamachine.
"Tune Up", while still driving, takes a much smoother path. The bass pulsates with a warm glow, spurred on by crisp hand percussion and claps. But tune up's real triumph is a vibrant, synthetic cloud of ghostly shimmer like a fistful of glitter thrown into the overcast.
